When Nonhlanhla first held her son Unathi, she wasn’t afraid, she knew a cleft lip/palate could be treated. With early referral and support from CURE Children’s Hospital, she learned to feed and care for him. Unathi gained weight, was treated, and is now healthy and smiling.

Seventeen-year-old Anna’s life changed after surgery for leg-length discrepancy. Once in constant pain and missing school, she can now walk, attend classes, and pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.

“I don’t like it when people look at me with judgmental eyes,” said Ethel, 17, born with tibia aplasia. After losing her dad, her family couldn't afford surgery. Thanks to donors at CURE Zimbabwe, she got the surgery at no cost and is now learning to walk with a new prosthesis.
