why are we here?
@curiousitycatty
I like to read and don’t need follows- if I like something it’s because I truly do. I also love to laugh

@BstKidEva Not glamorous at 18 but taking some peace changes our crossroads in the future.
Everything should not be a rush. From 18Yo self and 18Yo daughter they /we don’t know. Got to venture down the crossroads sometimes
English

@curiousitycatty I was a seasonal one for 4 years on an island in Boston harbor. Gave me a lot of time to think.

As a college student I was about to go down legal path with a focus on environmental science and ecology focus.
I’m glad I quit that shit.

The problem is by greenwashing #desertification they essentially took out a group of their greatest critics - by calling it “climate change” and then making outrageous claims like civilization will end in 12 years, they took away the credibility of those who are actually working to heal the earth and protect natural resources and cycles which generate our clean air, water, and natural abundance.
English

@BstKidEva The irony is they also talked to me about forestry which at 18 when you were watching mtv sounded insane, my adult self would have been at peace in that world. “What’s a park ranger “ I said 😂
English

@curiousitycatty Yep. Higherselves must’ve been throwing a fit cuz I’m stubborn

@davebearpig1 @FenixAmmunition @SassySouthBlond Finding a good mechanic is the hardest part. I have a 2007 HHR that I drove off the lot with 7 miles on it- love it, still with us and my 18Yo daughter is driving it mileage is over 250k. Insurance and taxes cheap but avg 1300 in repairs a year worth it.? For now yes.
English

@FenixAmmunition @SassySouthBlond My daughter’s car was “free if you get it running”.
2008 Chevy HHR, spent about $3k in repairs. 40-45mpg on the highway.

Stop blaming Gen Z for $600-$700 car payments. Buying an $11k (with taxes and fees) used car is a trap. Banks charge insane interest rates on these cars because of the risk, and Gen Z doesn't have the cash for endless repairs and rentals when something breaks on them.
Plus, you can't fix a POS car in an apartment parking lot without getting evicted or fined. Newer cars with lower rates are literally their only viable option. Newer cars means higher insurance as well. They can’t drive around these old cars with no safety net (no collision coverage). They aren’t experienced drivers.
If their parents gave them a decent car when they started driving and it is still in great shape great. A lot of them didn’t and by the time they reach the age of moving out their cars are shot and they have to buy new ones and that has to be budgeted in. This is not a luxury buy. This is a necessity.
By the time you average out repairs all the time on an older car plus the interest rate hike plus all the hassle an older car is going to bring to a young person, they are going to buy the newer car. Every single time. They can’t haul their kids around in an unreliable car breaking down in terrible areas all the time.

“Oh but I said 2011!” Here’s a bunch of 2012. 🤷♀️ All under 9k. All with less than. 150k miles.

@SCMountainGoat You just described my musical upbringing perfectly.
Thank you! I won’t fight you on Graceland it’s perfect but to pick a masterpiece in all the genres I know is impossible.
English

I grew up surrounded by music, and I developed sort of an eclectic taste.
I was raised by a Dead Head, who bootleg recorded over 100 Dead shows.
He loved everything from the Grateful Dead, to Miles Davis, to King Crimson, to Genesis, to Prince, to Yes, and all the guitar greats of his generation.
Pat Matheny, Jeff Beck, Robert Fripp, Trey Anastasio, Jerry Garcia, Steve Kimock, Allan Holdsworth, and so many more.
Music has always been a huge part of my life, and I was taught to appreciate it through a certain lens, one that I don’t really know how to describe.
There’s lots of great albums out there, and everyone has their favorite, but for me, there’s one album that is simply perfect.
Paul Simons Graceland album is a masterpiece.
There isn’t a mediocre song in the entire album, and it flows like a captivating novel.
It’s like a story that you never want to stop reading.
You Can Call Me Al, Obvious Child, The Boy In the Bubble, Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes, Under African Skies.
Every song is perfect.
Every song is a masterpiece.

@BstKidEva Also 100% cotton pjs , literally washed quilting cotton three times and made sleepwear-
Pillow cases too- some say silk pillowcases but made no difference for me. Night sweat suck. Keep a journal in the bathroom so while you’re awake, you can do something.
English

@BstKidEva Yes you have another 350- 700 days but as crazy as it is, when you don’t even notice it ended- it is marvelous. I am making you a bouquet to cherish the moment.
Gets better, promise.
Tell mister egg farmer and smalls it gets better too
