#Dolphins at #Jets is being played at 3:00 PM ET today. It cannot be scheduled any later because of the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 This act prevents the NFL from casting a game on a Friday night or Saturday that’s located within 75 miles of a high school or college football game happening simultaneously This is only in effect from the 2nd Friday of September to the 2nd Saturday of December, hence why there are NFL games scheduled on Saturday for Weeks 15-18

Exactly 40 years ago today, 9-year-old me was happy the Yankees won, but completely baffled on how to score the final play of what we know now as the Pine Tar Game. I refused to change it because Billy Martin was right and Lee MacPhail was a chicken.

Is @MetalNED still here? Edmonton leads Saskatchewan 1-0 after one quarter and I feel like he would be excited about that.

RIP. Reminds me of what I consider one of the greatest lines in the history of the Washington Post, from the great Shirley Povich: “Jim Brown, born ineligible to play for the Redskins, integrated their end zone three times yesterday.”

BREAKING: Jim Brown, a Pro Football Hall of Famer who retired at the peak of his brilliant career to become an actor as well as a prominent civil rights advocate, has died. He was 87. apne.ws/tqDf0d2

**** THREAD ALERT **** Wrote this weeks ago but hadn't posted it because I haven’t been in the mood to discuss it much — been laid off from The Day On “Good Friday” (Sometimes life likes to make a morbid joke at your expense)…. #cthsfb

FINAL: HOFSTRA 88, RUTGERS 86 (OT) Speedy Claxton and the Pride knock off the top-seeded Scarlet Knights in the NIT on a game-winner from Tyler Thomas and a stop on the final possession. First postseason win for Hofstra since 2006. Claxton, in just 2 years, has done a great job.

It’s about Education and growth. Despite some medias attempt to paint these young men consistently in a negative way they all rebounded and made us proud. Education in a journey of growth. @ciacsports @SCCcommissioner #ctbb
