Are there any video featurettes (standalone or from a DVD) around, or breakdown articles, that go in-depth to examine what filmmakers/studios put into trailers, and how they decide on shots/edits/material? It definitely seems like one of the dark arts of film releasing.

@GraceRandolph As someone who loves trailers and recognizes the importance of them: This interview was absolutely fascinating. I mean early trailers are made up of footage from dailies? That's a really interesting fact about trailers I did not know about.
