The ambitious project, called “Phenomenon” (a combination of “Fan” + “Phenomenon,” symbolizing a global movement driven by fans), is being led by Park Jin-young (J.Y. Park), founder of JYP Entertainment and current Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange. According to recent reports, the joint venture will serve as the main platform to execute the “Phenomenon” project. The goal is to build a world-class K-pop concert venue in Korea and establish a global music festival on the scale of (or even surpassing) Coachella. First edition: Planned for December 2027 in Korea as an annual domestic event. Global expansion: Starting in May 2028, the festival will tour major cities around the world. Park Jin-young has emphasized the need for a dedicated, top-tier K-pop performance infrastructure and regular global festivals that can elevate Korean popular culture on the international stage. The project also includes plans for strong on-site support and intellectual property (IP) protection for participating artists.
