When do you recall learning about this? Because if it was while Thomas and Cynthia were still dating, then it's not particularly probative. Cynthia is claiming that *after* they broke up, and after she was fired from Spartz's office, Thomas offered her $5,000 to drop the matter at a Cracker Barrel and she declined. Proof that he earlier gave her $5,000 to help her with legal fees doesn't prove that was "the" $5,000 she was referring to.
