2026 is already ahead in crypto hacks. DeFi losses are over $750M in less than four months. Just two attacks, Kelp DAO (~$292M) and Drift (~$285M), make up most of it. Cross-chain bridges are still the main weak point. Compared to 2025, the pace is clearly higher. Losses already passed ~$770M by late April. But it’s not only about the code. Both the Bybit and the Drift Protocol hack show the same pattern, social engineering, phishing, and malware are used first to get access, then the exploit follows.
