@yieldsearcher Hard to plan capex with a 10+ year payback given unprecedented oil price volatility that can drop 10-20% on an X post and a government that is promising much cheaper oil ASAP. Better off just cashflowing existing wells & waiting for more clarity.

$EC grinding higher after breaking out of its flag pattern. Pretty unaffected by oil volatility as investors are beginning to grasp the significance of the broader energy disruption unfolding.

Mentally healthy people are often delusionally optimistic.

The pump in tech stocks into this energy crisis could now be the perfect setup for energy. Hormuz is the most visible oil disruption on earth that still hasn't fully played out in oil prices. The surprising big buffer of global inventories pushed people into the belief that "we are just not that dependent on oil anymore." Why do we keep hearing this exactly on price floors for oil? The joke is the price level this narrative is born at now is above 100 bucks. The strength in Nasdaq and AI was the perfect distraction to chase that instead of being positioned in what started yesterday with the breakout into the second leg higher. Looked into BofA FMS this morning. Fund managers reduced energy exposure further last month. It's on.
