How to be more cultured and disgustingly educated in 2026: 1. Read classic fiction books. Dostoevsky, Dickens, Hardy, Austen, Woolf, etc. 2. Read essays and op-ed articles on various topics like geopolitics, tech, history, philosophy, economics, etc. 3. Listen to classical music and learn to match the sound to composer. 4. Learn the differences between the major art movements (impressionism, expressionism, realism and surrealism). Bonus: apply what you learn and visit a gallery. 5. Learn a new language or improve the one you’re already learning to fluency. 6. Write articles on things that interest you e.g. a movie you watched, a poster you saw, a trip you just had. Allow yourself to express your views and challenge them as well. In your words. 7. Watch films from different directors or films based in different countries (bonus if it’s in a different language- with subtitles ofc). 8. Go to the theatre. 9. Learn to play, or improve your chess game. 10. Attend a local lecture. Universities near you will do them for free or find something like Lectures on Tap to support professors, experts and storytellers who teach you.
