Homeless people are using dogs to test drugs for them on Skid Row in Los Angeles, California. Non-profit group Starts With One Today says dogs are being abused, thrown away, sold for drugs, neglected, and fed drugs to make sure there is no fentanyl. Animal advocates are ripping Mayor Karen Bass and other elected officials for not taking enough action. “We’re coming out here, risking our lives to help these dogs with no support from the government,” said volunteer Joey Tuccio.

When my Grandma passed away we had to take care of her Sheltie.
He was an annoying, old little fucker, he was 15 by the time he died, as he had figured out the perfect rate and frequency for his bark in order to wake up the family whenever he wanted to be let out or get fed.
And that little pain in my ass did that shit at 8am, on the dot, every time.
A few days after he passed away last year, I woke up one the morning on a whim, at 7:50am, because my body had basically been trained to wake up around 8am.
I waited for him to start barking to let us all know he was awake and ready to go to the bathroom.
It hit 8 o’clock, and nothing.
So I waited, and waited, and waited and waited.
Inevitably I started thinking about getting up to ask if he was alright, figuring my parents were awake by then, only for me to remember what happened midway through my thought.
It was the most annoying thing in the world, that bark.
But a year later, I’d give anything to wake up to it one last time.
