Not active here anymore but it's so alarming because we don't want someone who has the potential to be the next T0ni G in the 2028 national elections. We don't want that. So much influence that could bring the country down.

Politics is divisive because each person has different values, interests, and contested stances. However, as we are a democratic republic, it is our duty to take part as Democracy does not thrive in silence. We must always speak up for our country, for our fellow Filipinos.

I am not even from Manila, I am from Negros Occidental, and I have only visited Dangwa twice. Yet, even in the short time, I could sense the liveliness of the place, the logical mess, and the heat of the people struggling to survive on the edges. By the time Dangwa was cleared during the current term of Isko Moreno, not only were vendors being ousted but a part of culture, memory, and identity was being bulldozed. It brought to mind what Prof. Reynold Agnes had written in The Moral Politics of Sidewalk Vending: how the city government portrays informality as immoral, disorderly, and requiring correction, and how vendors make their moral claims to survival, dignity, and belonging. The Dangwa case is not purely an issue of policy enforcement, but it is the politics of morality. The real issue is: whose vision of the city will count? Whose values shape it? And with what price?
