We need to build DTigress around Izoje

After watching D’Tigress’ defeat to France yesterday, one thought keeps coming back: what is the transition plan after this golden generation? By the end of the next FIBA Women’s World Cup, several pillars of this team could be nearing the end of their international peak. Victoria Macaulay (35), Sarah Ogoke (35), Ezinne Kalu (33), Promise Amukamara (32), Nicole Enabosi (28), Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (28), and Amy Okonkwo (29) have been a major part of the success recorded bt Nigeria in recent years. These players brought experience, leadership, and winning culture. But realistically, post-2026, some may retire or reduce their involvement. That makes the next step crucial for the federation. Nigeria must begin aggressive scouting now, expand youth camps locally, track Nigerian talents in US colleges and European leagues, and fast-track dual-citizen players willing to represent the country. D’Tigress built a legacy with this generation. The real test now is ensuring the next generation is ready before the curtain fully falls on this one. #BallChatWithKenny #FIBAWWCQ
