What is happening in Warri is simple: Imagine Fulani and Igbo people who are not from Lagos going to court to sue INEC and demand more voting wards than the real indigenous owners of the land. Or Fulani and Yoruba doing the same thing in Anambra against the aboriginals. Or Yoruba and Igbo doing same in Abuja. That’s exactly what the Ijaws and Urhobos are doing to the Itsekiri people in our ancestral land of Warri. They sued INEC, bribed INEC, and forced through fake, fraudulent ward delineations. INEC has shamelessly turned itself into the National Population Commission and a boundary adjustment agency creating and recreating our lands and villages only to hand them over to Ijaws and Urhobos. These are the same territories where the Itsekiris have already won clear Supreme Court judgments affirming them as our ancestral lands. For context: Ijaws already control 3 full LGAs and 2 federal constituencies in Delta State. Urhobos control 8 full LGAs and 3 federal constituencies. (6 of which has Itsekiri presence) Itsekiris have only these 3 Warri LGAs and just 1 federal constituency. Yet these same people still want to take everything from us. If this fraudulent ward stands, the Itsekiris will be left with zero LGAs and zero federal constituencies. We will rather die than let that happen. If the “peace” they are shouting for requires us to hand over our political rights and ancestral lands to them, then there will never be peace. Period. The Itsekiri nation will not be erased.

Yes. Take for example, the knowledge of fishing passed down by the forefathers of ìlájé people is what's sustaining them till today, even when the whole economy is hard and tough. Now, imagine it's just money the forefathers gave them without the knowledge of fishing, what would have been the state of ìlájé People today with the government of the day? Hence, with this few point of mine, I can tell you that, knowledge is power and better than gold.

@d_prayers @calabartm Who was the person who show Ojukwu the region he wants the new state to be created from and the name rivers should be given as to represent the riverine. At that time the ikwerres were timid and had no voice and were being eliminated by the Igbos. The ungratefulness to ijaws sha!

The Ijaws are still dragging land with your Yoruba (Ilaje) people. They are nomadic land grabbers, very ungrateful set of human beings. Check out the list of tribes who accommodated them but they turned and started dragging their lands.

@wise_1_official @calabartm You literally said, ijaw and Urhobo are among the tribe that formed Itsekiri, you still haven’t prove it. You’re talking about marriage, Olori Emaye didn’t influence Itsekiri in anyway, it was the other way round. That union allowed a lot Ijaw’s to settle in Warri.

@d_prayers @calabartm Then you don’t know itsekiri history that much yourself. Many itsekiri communities were originally ijaw outposts that mixed with itsekiris today. Ijaw cultural practices are deeply woven into itsekiri cultures today. A few examples:
