Appealing for Work From Home (WFH) won’t change anything. If the govt genuinely wants it, it can strongly push or effectively enforce WFH in sectors where physical presence isn’t essential. It’s common in the West but not in India because Indian companies still operate on a “presence equals productivity” mindset, where managers feel employees work seriously only when they are physically visible. If an employee isn’t exhausted by traffic, long hours, and physical attendance, they assume no real work is being done. There’s also a deeply ingrained feudal mindset where control, surveillance, and making juniors “feel the grind” is treated as management instead of actual productivity. Otherwise, WFH can solve many problems for both individuals and the country. It reduces traffic, pollution, fuel consumption, stress, travel time, road accidents, and daily expenses for individuals while improving work-life balance. For India, it cuts crude oil consumption and import bills, reduces pressure on dollars, inflation, and urban infrastructure, while easing overcrowding in metro cities and saving huge amounts of productive time otherwise wasted in commuting.

@narendramodi @TVKVijayHQ Actors should focus on acting, not running a state. Tamil Nadu deserves experienced leadership, not celebrity politics. He should have stayed in films instead of stepping into a responsibility he may not handle properly.

@SANJEEV_ATREY @Riyashaishere Our's is a secular country which belongs to all religions Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi.. Southern people are educated. They are not bigots. They don't look at the candidate's religion while voting. That is the beauty of South India.

@panache_007 @dmuthuk I don't believe he is anti national. It's one thing about taking wrong decisions and another deliberately doing something. I support modi for the good work but at the same time don't believe Rahul is anti national. His ideology is different & skills & knowledge needs to improve

Not going to share any personal details. Just want to highlight how perception is different from reality. This is not to support any political party or leader. Want to let you know things are not as they look. In 2013, my client who was professionally working for Rahul Gandhi suggested my name to him to handle his mutual fund investments. From 2013, when UPA 2 was in power to till date when Vijay was sworn in with Congress support, Rahul continues to be my client for mutual fund investments. We have exchanged many mails and has spoken over phone lot of times. And as you are aware, I've been a strong Modi supporter from 2014 to 2024. Never once Rahul or his office staff brought that subject to me. I believe my tweets are regularly seen by his staff. They clearly differentiate between my professional service and political beliefs. And in every single conversation I've with Rahul, he addresses me with respect and never behaved in any haughty manner. Despite knowing my BJP support, he took my input few years ago for choosing a key professional . This post may lead to Rahul terminating our professional relationship. That's ok. Everything should end one day. Wanted to post this to show how main stream media and IT cells of parties can make someone look completely inhuman. I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with. Don't go by media or IT cells - for any party that matter.

@ihailmyindia 😂 because he won, South is not aware? South has always voted for development, secularism and that shows in its development & most people in North aspiring to be here. This is the first time, TN voted against Dravidian politics. It's bigger than BJP winning bengal.

See, I know TN has this strong culture of hero worship. M. G. R & Jayalalithaa were actors, but they didn’t just walk into power. MGR had ~20 years of groundwork before becoming CM. Jayalalithaa was with MGR & then fought her own brutal internal battle to rise. But Vijay ?? … He didn't do any ground work & all votes are out of his fandom, right ? So let’s be real, if this same thing happened in any North Indian state, where an actor with zero political groundwork becomes CM or gets this many votes., you people would have shamed the entire North. Which you already do that even now... So the question is, The South gets this image of being politically “aware” no matter what, but the North doesn’t get that same benefit, right ? I’m saying this because Maithili Thakur still receives hate.

I think India will get solved with just 2 things: 1. Cleanliness: Clean the streets. Punish the litterers. 2. Respect: Treat the citizen with respect. FIRs are lodged. Complaints are addressed. Every government official has a body cam. Just two things. Can be done in two years.

officially leaving bangalore today. i wanted to write an article with my thoughts on the city, and some of its problems but i don’t want to be the doomer on the timeline. i think blr is a special place where any upstart with ambition and agency can not just succeed from 0 but also find other crazy ones who’ll become lifelong friends along the way. despite its infra and socio-cultural/political issues, i think blr has the highest talent/sq. km ratio in the entire country with a healthy amount of fun things to do with run clubs and food clubs and quiz nights — all of these get a bad rep but i think blr’s people taking it upon themselves to infuse fun into the city is what makes it special. i could write a whole article just tagging everyone i met in the last 1.5 years but you know who you are — ty for all the fun times! will be back in june for a bit. till then, bombay is calling. expect a lot of delhi/bombay/blr tweets in the next few weeks 🫡

Now she will be out on bail, free to lead a normal life within a year of getting her husband murdered in cold blood. She might even get a book deal and be feted as a ‘feminist icon’ just like Indrani Mukherjee. Meanwhile, her poor husband is dead and gone and his parents deal with a lifetime of loss! The great Indian judiciary strikes, as always!

A MURDERED MAN HAS LESS SERIOUSNESS IN EYES OF LAW THAN WORDS OF A WOMAN I feel totally lost today. Over the last few years, I have personally worked with men who are victims of #falserape cases who spent anything from 5 months to 5 years in false rape cases. No matter how many proofs they had of their innocence, courts did not grant them bail merely because "allegations" & "charges" against them were serious as recorded in their bail rejection orders BUT I am seeing women being granted bail within days or months even when they played an active role in the death of a man whether in abetment to suicide cases or even MURDERS !!! WHAT EQUALITY IS THIS? NOT EVEN 1 YEAR IN JAIL !!!?

To save 1 litre of imported crude, India is spending 2,860 litres of groundwater. That's the single statistic missing from the entire E85 debate. E20 is done. The government's draft notification for E85 (85% ethanol, 15% petrol) is ready. Most reactions are either "great, energy independence" or "my mileage dropped." Both are shallow. Here is the actual trade India is making. The economic logic is real: India imports 85%+ of its crude. The FY25 import bill was ~$137 billion. Ethanol blending has already saved ₹1.08 lakh crore in forex and put ~₹92,000 crore in farmers' hands since inception. Every 1% of blending = ~$1 billion in annual savings. But ethanol is not a free lunch: 🔹 Ethanol has 33% less energy per litre than petrol. 🔹 US DoE data: FFVs on E85 get 15 to 27% fewer miles per gallon than on petrol. 🔹 The offset is octane. E85 rates ~105 vs petrol's 91. In purpose-built engines (turbo, high-compression, direct injection), higher octane recovers most of the energy loss. The catch. India's fleet is 90% E10-ready at best. You cannot pour E85 into a Swift. Flex-fuel vehicles need stainless fuel lines, upgraded pumps, 30% larger injectors, ethanol content sensors, and recalibrated engine maps. The hidden cost nobody is pricing: 🔸 E20 at today's consumption needs ~1,016 crore litres of ethanol annually. 🔸 At 2,860 litres of water per litre of ethanol, that is ~2.9 trillion litres of water per year. The annual water footprint of 200+ million Indians. 🔸 E85 scales this 4x+. 🔸 60% of India's ethanol now comes from maize and broken rice. India, a net corn exporter, imported 1 million tonnes of corn in 2024 because of ethanol diversion. 🔸 Retail sugar moved from ₹40 to ₹45/kg in two years partly due to cane diversion. The reframe most people miss: The ethanol programme is not an energy policy. It is an agricultural subsidy dressed as an energy policy. The forex savings are real. The farmer income transfer is real. Both are the actual goals. The mileage drop is a tolerated cost. The water and food inflation risk is the hidden tax. E85 will happen anyway. The listed winners sit in three buckets: 🔸 Sugar and distillery players with integrated ethanol capacity 🔸 Auto ancillaries making ethanol-compatible injectors, pumps, fuel lines, sensors 🔸 OEMs going flex-fuel first (Toyota, Maruti and Hyundai are already prototyping) Energy independence is not free. India is trading barrels of oil for billions of litres of water and millions of tonnes of grain. Whether it's worth it depends on which constraint matters more in 2040 — your oil bill, or your aquifer.

Hi, all. I’ve been seeing an inaccurate policy document going viral about Lenskart. I want to speak directly that this document does not reflect our present guidelines. Our policy has no restrictions on any form of religious expression, including bindi and tilak, and we continue to review our guidelines regularly. Our grooming policy has evolved over the years and outdated versions do not represent who we are today. We apologize for the confusion and concern this situation has caused. We as a company, continue to learn and build. Any lapses in our language or policies have and will continue to be addressed. We have thousands of team members across Bharat who wear their faith and culture proudly every day at our stores. They are Lenskart. Lenskart was built in Bharat, by Indians, for Indians. Every symbol and every tradition our people carry is a part of who we are as a company. I will never let that be compromised. 🙏
