He was a colossus in the victories against both England and France. Now Scotland - and Glasgow Warriors - are facing up to losing Jack Dempsey. Just how did they let him get away? trib.al/9XCHSiX
@Rugby_Scoop It has always been like this, you can use any narrative to discredit the winner.
A joke that a team that lost to Italy wins the 6N (Scotland)
A joke that a team with a offensive production this bad wins the 6N (Ireland)
A joke that a team who conceded 50 in a gale wins (France)
@dab691@stephendpmoore@jimhamilton4 When a team only cares about winning one game and throwing away any chance of the title that’s the definition of a lack of ambition.
@David_Tracey@stephendpmoore@jimhamilton4 You need to give France a bit of credit for coming back and, as said earlier, the ‘plethora’ of injuries and players having to play out of position. Also against the team which blew Ireland out of the water in the first 40 mins of their match.
@dab691@jimhamilton4 I don’t see how France aren’t winning this. The Ireland Scotland game should be a cracker. I wish I was back in Dublin for that. What a day that will be!
@David_Tracey@jimhamilton4 Good question! Might have been a wee bit different if the eye gouge had been picked up at the time and they had lost à player.
@David_Tracey@jimhamilton4 Bit harsh. 4 injured players, guys having to play out of position for last 15/20 was always going to mean tries leaked. Blew them away in the first 60 though.
@realMattToomer@JermainJackman I don’t think not inviting the guy because of his disability is a straightforward option. Thin ice to be honest, especially as the movie is his life story with the aim of improving everyone’s awareness and understanding of his condition.
I’ve been trying to articulate myself about last nights BAFTA’s so apologies if my wording is clumsy.
I met someone at primary school with vocal tics so I’ve grown up knowing about Tourette’s. I understand it and the discourse online demonstrates how little is known about tics
What I want to know is: how did John Davidson get diagnosed in Scotland?
Loud swearing, socially inappropriate phrases and involuntary aggressive twitches? It might be a crime here, but every Scottish person does it.
@stephenjones9 Why don’t you enlighten us with some facts about why the same ball should have been used, maybe quoting the law to back up your original claim, as opposed to calling someone’s reasoned comment ‘tripe’?
Scotland’s major stroke of fortune. Darcy Graham try came from a quick throw-in. Has to be taken with the same ball that went out of play but that ball was in the crowd. Same ball rule in the book for decades
@Sir_Wigster@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax This is getting tedious now. You are now repeating yourself about Ford dismantling teams so let’s call it a day. Russell had a fantastic performance on Saturday, all the more amazing as he did it all with George Ford in his pocket.
@dab691@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax Still Finn Russell is no better than Farrell I would rather Farrell than Russell in a squad. Russell is still the most inconsistent 10 I have seen. At least Ford can single handily dismantle a team, Farrell is a proven winner and consistent as a 10 or in the centres
@Sir_Wigster@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax Maybe you need to do some more googling. Lions player of the series and has been nominated for 2026 Investec player of the year award on the back of his performances in this year’s Champions Cup.
@dab691@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax Do you know what he can’t do? Is win a six nations.
No players are judged on what they win domestically and internationally when they’re at a high level. Russell hasn’t even been considered for European player of the year
@Sir_Wigster@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax Wow! You’ve been doing a lot of googling. So you judge how good a player is based on how their team fares? Russell can do things Ford and Farrell can only dream of doing.
@dab691@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax I would say Farrell was better than Russell
X6 premierships
X3 six nations
X1 grand slam
X2 RWC bronze/runners up
X1 European rugby player of the year
X3 nominations for world player of the year
Russell hasn’t been nominated before and never been European player of the year
@Sir_Wigster@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax What a load of nonsense. He has been tearing it up for Bath for a couple of seasons now. Bath fans love him. He also keeps Carreras away from the 10 shirt and he is the 2nd best 10 in the premiership. Ford didnt do much dismantling on Saturday.
@dab691@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax It really doesn’t bother me because we all know that he is the most inconsistent fly half in the league.
At least Ford can single handily dismantle teams look at what he did to Argentina in the 2023 rwc
@Sir_Wigster@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax Russell was brilliant on Saturday, especially in the 1st half. It must make you even more angry that the best 10 in the premiership by a country mile is Scottish.
@dab691@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax No Russell missed a simple kick and is inconsistent. There’s a reason why he’s not in the discussion for being the best fly half in the world. Make all the excuses you want
@Sir_Wigster@847HereIGoAgain@gdoc1959@scotfax Do you actually watch any matches or is your memory really that bad? The kick was from the touch line but shouldn’t have been as the ref made him take it from the wrong place. Shot clock should have been reset as Itoje was in the ref’s ear and should have been behind his line.
