I got 30k fuel and it didn’t even reach half of my tank. 22 liters for 30 thousand naira 🤦🏿 On 28th of May, 2023, that same amount would have gotten me about 160 liters For everyone trying to gaslight us about this current situation, you’ll not make gain!

This is exactly what I mean when I say you don't have to lie - you just have to frame it professionally. Notice how He didn't even say "I'm in Nigeria but I want to work for US clients." He said..."I move around quite a bit, so I'm more of a digital nomad. All of my clients are in the U.S. and Europe, and I've worked with several brands internationally." Same truth. Different positioning. He shifted the conversation from where he is to who he works with. That's the skill. When recruiters ask "Where are you based?" they're not asking for your GPS coordinates. They're asking - Can you work in our timezone? Can we pay you easily? Will communication be smooth? Answer those concerns, not the literal question. You're not lying. You're translating your reality into the language clients understand. The recruiter didn't care that he wasn't sitting in New York. He cared whether the work arrangement would function smoothly. It would. This is what I've been teaching... positioning beats location every time. You don't need to hide where you are. You just need to lead with what matters to them - your availability, your ability to deliver, and how easy you make their life. Sweet conversation Indeed. That's the strategy.

Switched location yesterday to a state in the US, got a recruiter texting me today. Jumped on a call. Recruiter: Where are you currently based? Me: I move around quite a bit, so I’m more of a digital nomad. All of my clients are in the U.S. and Europe, and I’ve worked with several brands internationally. Recruiter: Are you authorized to work in the U.S.? Do you have a W2? Me: I don’t have a W2. I work as an independent contractor on a 1099 basis. Recruiter: How do you handle payments then? Me: I have a U.S. bank account that I use to receive payments from all my clients, whether I’m in Europe or the U.S. I invoice them directly as a 1099 contractor. Recruiter: Got it… So you’re strictly a contractor, not an employee. Me: Exactly. I work fully independently, managing my own taxes and invoicing. Recruiter: Okay… the current client I’m recruiting for needs someone on a W2, so that wouldn’t work. But I still need your resume. I have other clients who would be willing to work with you on 1099 terms. Sweet conversation you don't have to mention naija. Bye....😘🥰

Africa is poor because of incompetent and corrupt politicians who make poor decisions, loot the national treasury, and plunder national resources. While they do that, foolish people shield them from accountability and punishment by shifting the blame onto imperialists, the West, CIA, and the ghosts of colonization.

The CIA doesn’t want us to cover our gutters that’s why we have open sewages all over Accra. They also don’t want us to have hospital beds so we keep patients on the floor. The thing about playing the blame game is, you eventually run out of excuses.

Understanding history means confronting uncomfortable truths, not rewriting them. Slavery was practiced by people of all colors, well before America and the British did it. Black Africans enslaved white Europeans in the Barbary Slave Trade. Black Africans sold other black Africans to white Europeans. Evil is a human problem, not a racial one.
