I just don’t understand how you look at Caleb Durbin’s start to the season and think he’d slot great into the 2-spot. He has an OPS of .300

The one guy in the lineup who consistently shows out on the offensive side of the ball is Wilyer Abreu, and Cora insists on having him bat in the 5-spot. Lack of effort and no momentum carried over from the last series. Absolutely absurd

@Hogdale_ Something about going out of your way looking for a righty vs righty matchup that never really clicked with me, especially when one of your issues this season is not getting enough out of your starters

Sorry Early you are young and therefore you suck and are not allowed to try to salvage 5 innings in this outing

Game 1 of the roadtrip and they’re going to burn through the bullpen early and can’t get to Dustin May

Absolutely no life on this Red Sox offense through three innings vs Dustin May, other than Wilyer, who is apparently best fit in the 5-spot. It seems like all momentum from the season’s first series win is out the window.

1. Roman needs to be an everyday player, especially after a rest day and especially against a pitcher like Dustin May. For a player who hasn’t exactly looked like himself to start the season, this would be a great bounce back spot. 2. What has Durbin done to deserve to bat in the 2-hole? 3. Why is your best hitter this season (Wilyer) not batting in the top 4? Again, the construction of this team is beyond words. The outfielder logjam causes so many issues with playing time and only pushes the narrative of needing to trade someone away. I just don’t understand why. If the Sox can’t win the series against STL and MIN, let alone tonight’s game vs May, you need to do something about the roster.

Sonny Gray looked solid once again in his third start of the season. 6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 2K This Brewers squad was very familiar with Gray since he was with STL last season and faced them four times last season alone. His K rate is down. I’m not too concerned because he’s producing soft contact and limiting baserunners, but it might be something worth noting.

First series dub of the season. Gotta carry that momentum into St. Louis and Minnesota!

I just don’t understand the thought process behind this lineup. Yes, I understand this is the last game of a home stand and there’s a short turnaround from last nights game. But this is the team’s first chance at winning a series this season AND it’s at home where the crowd is getting uneasy and criticizing ownership, front office, and management. This is the lineup you put out?

@ChrisCotillo With Contreras at 1B and the outfield surplus taking over DH, this really isn’t an issue for the big league roster, unless the plan is to somehow have WC play some catcher vs RHP

Triston Casas tried swinging in Fort Myers and it “didn’t go well,” according to Alex Cora. Casas is going to have imaging on his rib area as a result.

@PKNCAAWBB @ChrisCotillo Exactly - I said either bench him or move him to the infield. The question for the infield is who do you want in your lineup: Story, Cedanne, or Durbin. Assuming Mayer is in vs a RHP, you can only pick two of those three.

All things seen in the first 10 games of the season point towards this team isn’t built for run prevention and defense. It needs more offense. Up against a RHP like Misiorowski, you need more offense. Unfortunately, 4 of the 5 best hitters on this roster are outfielders and they’re all lefties: Roman, Duran, Yoshida, Abreu. The only way you get to play all of them is moving Cedanne.
