Not optimal! Sorry about that. Have your friend tried it before or was it a completely new download? I've seen this issue once before when a user migrated their local content into an account (Krono accounts launched earlier this year). Your friend could try deleting the app and re-dwonload it again.

I need to step up my bookmarking game. It’s a mess of me emailing myself links to tweets/threads and bookmarks in safari and the iOS-read-list-thingy. But I also want to ditch Pinterest that I (used to) have for design inspiration. Any nifty apps that syncs between devices and Mac’s?

My experience: Got the standard welcome from "My Mind" and the personal welcome from you Tobias. Two welcomes in a day is perhaps too much, I think one of them is enough, but people are different and might think it's nice. Then I got a new email every day. After day 4 I thought that this looks like a daily thing and I really don't need the noise – so I unsubscribed. Otherwise liking the service so far though!
