With the new league year set to begin today, the #49ers plan to release WR Brandon Aiyuk. Could happen as soon as today, but certainly soon. Washington is the most likely landing spot for Aiyuk, probably on a one-year prove it deal. SF is expected to use post June 1 designation, which is why they had to wait until new league year begins. Dead cap numbers, per OverTheCap: 2026 - $13.325 million 2027 - $21.247 million SF will also get a credit of $4.987 million toward the 2027 cap. The Niners, of course, will save significant amounts in future years by getting Aiyuk off the books.

@MarkBullockNFL My problem is that Keim was saying how aggressive they were going to be. I think the Tunsil and Oweh moves were excellent, but it looks like they’ve been outmanoeuvred on a number of players. Their options now are limited. I fear we’ll be seeing more 1yr deals for old fellas.

Daniel Jeremiah just presented an idea for the Vikings to trade up from No. 18 to No. 7 with the Commanders without giving up their 2027 1st Round pick. To do so, the Rich Hill math says Minnesota would have to send No. 18, No. 49, No. 82, and No. 158 to move up and pay a Top 10 tax.
Then, DJ has the Vikings taking Jeremiyah Love, so as it stands today a lot of Washington fans would be very unhappy, even with the 2x top 100 picks.

Commanders interviewed Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love this morning, per source. Washington is going to interview a ton of players, but certainly interesting to think about adding an offensive weapon like Love along side Jayden Daniels.

It will be interesting to observe if Mike McDaniel submerges right into the Carousel process, or takes a bit of time to rest and reflect--based on a conversation with a league source a couple weeks ago. Emotions in general, are always fluid though.
He is no doubt, in my estimation, a great offensive mind.
