عاجل | جزء من فقرات قانون "التجنيد الالزامي" الذي يسعى البرلمان العراقي لتشريعه: - يبدأ التكليف في اول يوم لمن يكمل الـ19 من عمره - مدة الخدمة (18) شهراً لمن لم يلتحق بالمدرسة - مدة الخدمة (12) شهراً لمن اكمل الاعدادية - مدة الخدمة (9) شهراً لمن تخرج من المعاهد - مدة الخدمة (6) شهراً للحاصل على الماجستير - مدة الخدمة (3) شهراً للحاصل على الدكتوراه - يعفى من الخدمة من لا يتوفر فيه شروط اللياقة - لا يجوز تعيين أو تشغيل أي عراقي بعد اكماله التاسعة عشرة من عمره في الوزارات والجهات غير المرتبطة بوزارة والقطاع العام أو الخاص أو المختلط إلا إذا كان قد أكمل الخدمة الالزامية أو أجل أو أعفي منها - لا يجوز ابقاء اي موظف في عمله اكمل الـ(19) من عمره ولم يلتحق بالخدمة الالزامية - لا يسمح للعراقي الذي أكمل التاسعة عشرة من عمره ولم يكمل الخامسة والأربعين من عمره بمغادرة العراق إلا إذا كان قد أنهي الخدمة الالزامية - يكون الراتب الشهري للمكلف عند ايقاف تسريحه مساوياً للراتب الشهري الذي يتقاضاه المتطوع من رتبته وشهادته واختصاصه نفسه. -يعاقب بغرامة لا تقل عن (250) ألف دينار ولا تزيد على مليون دينار كل من تخلف بدون عذر مشروع عن الحضور أمام لجنة الفحص عند دعوته اليها بموجب أحكام هذا القانون أو أي نظام صادر بموجبه - يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تزيد على سنة واحدة كل من تخلف بدون عذر مشروع عن الحضور للإلتحاق بخدمة العلم خلال (10) أيام إذا كان داخل جمهورية العراق و (30) يوماً إذا كان خارجها ابتداء من تاريخ البدء بدعوة وجبته - يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تقل عن (3) سنوات وبغرامة لا تقل عن (500) ألف دينار ولا تزيد علی (2) مليون دينار أو بإحدى هاتين العقويتين إذا راجع المكلف المتخلف دائرة تجنيده أو قبض عليه بعد تجاوزه (45) من عمره - للقائد العام للقوات المسلحة في حالة الحرب أو الطوارئ، وبناء على طلب من الوزير ايقاف تسريح الخاضعين الأحكام هذا القانون من مواليد معينة الذين أكملوا مدة الخدمة مدة لا تزيد على سنة واحدة.
