@RaeHoffmanJager I love “Hallelujah,” and I’m happy the 6 gajillion covers of it helped Leonard financially in his later years, but I think it’s been done too much already. So I’m going to pick So Long, Marianne which is just an exquisite piece of music.

@juliafspa Well, your length and subject puts you pretty much right into the mainstream. I was thinking you were looking at something longer than 5000 words which could be a challenge to place, but at 2400 words and not on an explicitly religious topic opens up a lot of options.

I doubt this happens anymore, but in poetry classes until at least the mid-90s, when professors asked students to bring in a poem they loved, 1 guy would always bring in that poem from the end of Nights in White Satin.
