The people on social media claiming that the data center pushback is Chinese propaganda are the ones spreading the actual propaganda. And it’s falling flat. People don’t want to live next to this hum constantly, have their quiet rural towns lit up in the night sky, and have their water and electricity costs rise so these multibillion dollar companies get tax abatements while their neighbors get taxed out of their homes. The deal that these companies have been given by Greg Abbott have caused them to be a net drain on the communities where they build. We do not NEED data centers in our communities. They NEED to be there. They are the ones who should be making the concessions, not us. -Zero tax breaks -Investment in local water projects -Investment in local education -Build outside of ear shot of existing communities Done. Otherwise, go find somewhere else. Because besides the initial construction, there aren’t even sustainable jobs that come to town with these eyesores. Islam is growing quickly in Texas. In North Texas DFW alone there are multiple new mosques being built. each dot is a mosque, a muslim community center, Islamic social organization, or jihad school. At this pace Texas will look like England in 10 years time
