It also goes the other way around. We have secondary teachers that claim they’re not reading teachers and therefore don’t go over reading instruction. But it’s not either/or. They’re intertwined.

@oliviajune82 @AJPettway1 So annoying. Literacy is across all content and should be taught that way. The read aloud and word study and writing should relate to the content area they are learning about.

4 of my students went to see Project Hail Mary… So I’m working on 3D printing 4 of the xenonite Ryland Grace sculptures from the movie for them, & for any other kids that go see it! (file link info below)

Just saw Project Hail Mary… here’s my thoughts w/o any spoilers: Fantastic adaptation of the book, great for the family, less technical than the book (so it’s more enjoyable for non science teachers), exactly what a space adventure story should be. Thanks @projecthailmary!

I gave each of my STEM class students a Life Saver & challenged them to recreate it in CAD/Fusion. They had to measure it carefully with their caliper, then figure out how to curve text & add tolerances (because not every Life Saver is the same size)
