@TomJohnston52A Did you check the internal temp with a probe thermometer like a thermapen? You are aiming for about 99 degrees c. It looks baked to me. What is the issue? Crumb not open? Wet crumb?Not dark enough? Was it an open bake or in a Dutch oven/pot?

Help sought from sour dough makers out there. What am I doing wrong? This had 30 minutes at 230, then 20 mins at 200, but it doesn’t look properly cooked. Advice, please.

Baked the Windfall Apple Cake from @SueHLawrence New Scottish Baking and it was delicious! Bit of tweaking required as windfall apples are all different sizes but easy to make the adjustment based on how liquid or not the batter is. Definitely a keeper! #newscottishbaking
