Today is the DAY. Chi Board of Ed ELECTED members sworn in. Chi never had elected board members before... I can vividly remember activists, including Jitu Brown (who is now on the board) going door to door to collect petitions for a referendum to ask for an elected board.

A win for Illinois students! HR0942, uplifting the MTI Scholarship, passed 74-18 in committee with 220 witness slips submitted. Special thanks to Rep. Faver Dias for leading and to the Black Caucus for their unwavering support of this program! #ProtectMTI
