#OnThisDay in 1883 Brunel’s SS Great Western was launched. The galley kitchen was fitted by Harvey’s of Hayle. Brunel also designed the Hayle viaduct in 1852.

Florence Graham was born in Hayle 1884. She emigrated to Canada in 1908 and later opened a beauty parlour on New York City’s Fifth Avenue. Her business grew into a successful global beauty empire. You will know her as Elizabeth Arden, daughter of Hayle. #InternationalWomensDay
