Also finished reading Rivers Of London Ben Aaronovitch Read the first couple of these years ago, recently purchased the whole series to read through. This first one is superb. Irreverent, darkly observant, witty urban fantasy. Looking forward to the rest!

I'm a dunce when it comes to filming the unboxing of my books, but these are bloody gorgeous. The Drowning Place is out on 16th April from @harvillbooks

@FoodPorn Honestly, thanks to online shopping, I hardly ever get to my Target. I feel a little guilty about that.

Book 23 of the year: A Waiter In Paris by Edward Chisholm. Enjoyed this one a lot, a fascinating insight into the world of an Englishman entering the world of the Parisian waiter

@dakegra @goodreads I think it’s the negativity that’s attached. When people want to leave less than one star, the comment is often “So bad I DNF.” So the DNF acts like the worst possible rating. If they changed “DNF” to “NRFM” (Not Right For Me) that would be much better!

What do you guys think of this? I know I have a specific viewpoint here but I think a DNF shelf is a grim idea. Not every book works for every reader. If this goes ahead I’ll have to think about taking down my ⁦@goodreads⁩ account.

Finished Reading The Silent Appeal @JaniceHallett Haha this was SUPERB. So clever and so much fun. Issy's back, The Fairway Players are going all Christie so of course chaos and murder follow. I loved it. Fanflippintastic. Coming September do NOT miss it!

Just watched the first episode of #Scarpetta and as a massive fan of the books of course I was concerned. No need! Excellent adaptation, true to the spirit & madly compelling. I feel a binge watch coming on. Hope @1pcornwell is happy too. Recommended. Go 👀

One of the truly amazing things about the internet is how, because of it, there are people— not even *on the internet —that have strangers around the world loving them and wishing the best for them. That’s got to be a kind of magic, right?

@dakegra All good. Just an allergic reaction— and *not whatever the other people at work have. Weirdly, five people at work are all complaining about the same symptoms, but I’m the only one who is using my eye makeup, so not the same. 😉 <- not flirting, that’s what my eye looks like! 🤣

Considering last night’s commute and the dire predictions, this is a pretty good way to start a Friday. … well, not at urgent care, but apart from that.
