Musk replied to the video in Chinese: “My son is learning Mandarin.” — in response to “Teacher Li Is Not Your Teacher.” Chinese media immediately hyped up the topic. Hashtags such as “#MuskPostsInChinese” and “#MuskSaysHisSonIsLearningChinese” shot to the top of Weibo’s trending list. However, no Chinese media outlet dared mention who exactly “Teacher Li Is Not Your Teacher” is. He is one of the most famous Chinese language accounts on X, with 2.228 million followers. His real name is Li Ying, and he currently lives in Italy. He first gained major attention for posting real videos from China’s “White Paper Revolution,” and later became widely known for continuously sharing firsthand information from inside China — making him deeply hated by the CCP. The CCP has subjected his parents in China to ongoing harassment and pressure, while also organizing proxies in Italy to monitor, stalk, and threaten him personally. What makes this especially ironic is that Musk, while sitting perhaps closer to Xi Jinping than almost anyone else in the world at that moment, publicly interacted with a figure widely labeled by the CCP as an anti-Communist dissident.
