@tarikniffo @sk_football1907 Fair point. African teams often choose friendlies based more on regional location than opponent level. I think another reason we rarely get big-match friendlies is pride many nations prefer keeping the image of being the continent's best, so they avoid real tests until AFCON.

@sk_football1907 Because of afcon, why would u focus on playing European teams that play different. Most good african teams also refused to play against Morocco for unknown reasons besides tunisia.

@sk_football1907 And also because of the FIFA rule that points cannot be lost in the knockout stage, and goal difference does not have any effect. That's why I prefer Elo even the FIFA women's ranking is mathematically more realistic than the men's.

I stated the other day that 🇯🇴 Jordan will be upgraded I'll give also relatively close match odds for their game against 🇩🇿 Algeria. Any result is thinkable However I can't see 🇯🇴 Jordan having a decent GD at the end of the group stage Goal difference could be decisive

@sk_football1907 Jordan is the most likely from the odd defying options imho. That goal against Spain before the Asian Cup 2023 gave them a different level of spark.

@tarikniffo @cw_131007 SO I'm using an Elo-style system where teams gain or lose points based on result, opponent strength, and expectations; for eg. 🇲🇦 has a high rating from consistency, but it's not inflated since results like vs 🇹🇿 where Morocco underperform the expectations, so gains stay small.
