There’s really no need to sign Nico Paz back. It’s a similar profile to Arda Güler left-footed, creative, thrives between the lines, and wants the ball to dictate tempo. Bringing both into the same setup doesn’t really solve a problem; it just duplicates one. At the highest level, squad building is about complementary profiles, not just stacking talent. If you already have Güler developing into that right-sided interior/playmaker role, what you need around him is balance….runners, ball-winners, vertical threats not another player asking for the same spaces and touches. Nico Paz is a top talent, no doubt. But he’s also someone who needs freedom, minutes, and a system built to maximize his creativity. In a team where Güler is already competing for that exact influence, one of them inevitably gets reduced either pushed wide, deeper than ideal, or simply benched. That slows development more than it helps. It becomes even more of a tactical issue. Both prefer operating in half-spaces rather than holding width, Neither is a natural high-intensity ball-winner, Both want to be primary creators rather than secondary pieces So instead of improving the squad, you risk positional congestion and unclear roles. Unless the plan is to sell one, or radically change the system, bringing Nico Paz back feels more like collecting talent than building a coherent team.
