I have seen comments suggesting that it was over a month before any Govt Official visited Accompong. This is not true. One of the first communities I visited just days after the passage of Hurricane Melissa was Accompong, St Elizabeth. An assessment was done and Chief Currie informed the team that most of the houses within the community were damaged. Following a visit to deliver donations and meet with the community earlier this month, MHPM announced that the Govt will be assisting with repairs to damaged buildings in Accompong and surrounding areas in St. Elizabeth.
