@dami_digital I was rendering a single frame for 4-8 hours with a HP Celeron laptop 💻 in blender back in 2019 😂

2014 Blender renders by a baby Dami, crazy to think how long these took to render on my laptop back then.

@dami_digital For some perspective, when I was using Lightwave in the 90s, a 320 x 240 frame would take several hours 🤪

@onyxstones_ Blender Ivy Gen addon with a random leaf asset I had laying around on my PC - then added a displacement to all the leaves to make them sway, I'll probably do a short breakdown soon

@dami_digital I think sometimes it’s worth it. Even if those details are obscured a bit, they still affect how the light and shadows form and react.

@dami_digital Love the volumetric effects and feel of the scene. It reminds me of a background from a 90s point and click adventure game (in the best way possible).

@user_010151 It started purely as a modelling exercise for the window, then I just started having different ideas - happy with how it turned out though!

@dami_digital if you'd start from the composition, set up some lights, block in the rough geo, block in the rough colors, then do passes of detail/polish would that be faster? Sometimes the art piece reveals itself after hours or days of wondering around clueless. I love the piece btw
