I decided to start this Instagram account to share quick tips on game design and development in the form of “cards”. I’m mainly creating these as a personal library for inspiration and reminders, but I’d be happy if they help others too. :) IG: instagram.com/damianbdev/

The story is told through gameplay, and I started adding wooden figures of the characters to support what the player is feeling. They mirror emotions, memories, and changes in the relationship - without interrupting player control. What do you think? #screenshotsaturday

@damianbudzakdev Yeah, totally agree. Sound design is huge for immersion, especially in horror. Even subtle interaction sounds can change the whole feel. Btw, if you ever want to experiment with custom horror audio for this, I’d be happy to help!

I’ve been thinking about keys as a game mechanic in my horror game. I don’t like generic keys because they’re not interesting to interact with. So I started designing keys. This is one example. Would you want to pick this up and use it? #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #horror

@fictiumsound Thank you! Your feedback means a lot to me. Yes, adding sounds during interaction would make it even better, your examples are very precise and good, which would make the item a better horror experience.

@damianbudzakdev Love this! Turning the key into something that feels alive and wrong is way more unsettling. Imagine the audio on interact: faint stitching creaks, a muffled heartbeat inside the stuffing, or a child’s giggle that cuts off when you grab it. Instant dread. Awesome concept!
