We are talking about bombs the Russians are using not what the Ukrainians are using, as the Ukrainians have not fielded anything resembling a UMPK kit (they are only planning to).

KaB literally stands for a guided bomb , it is a name not tied down only to the 70s models
You can call whatever the Ukrainians are making KaB which stands for a smart aerial bomb , which means guided

For the uninitiated: KAB are a series of Soviet aircraft bombs from the '70s that were guided via laser/electro-optical/or satelite. They did not have propulsion or gliding ability only momentum

KAB-s can't glide. They fall where they're dropped and correct their path. The bomber has to fly over the target.
UMPK equipped FAB-s can fly (depending on the type) 200km and are much more accurate and cheap than '70s KAB-s.

@Damjanits They call them FAB UMPK’s because they are actual built FAB’s with a added glide kit and kab’s were built back then with their own Guidance sections

@Damjanits @GDRvisuals I know obviously. But that doesn't change the fact. In 1944 Stalin was in no position to bargain over this. He thought the western allies would leave later. He underestimated them.

A 200km glide is not a correction as in "Корректируемая Авиационная Бомба" -which is where KAB comes from.
German rifles aren't Krupps instead of Mausers.
Soviet ones aren't TT-33 instead of AK-47s.

@Egl3Rion @GDRvisuals The American tanks and military were there because the Soviet Union allowed them to be (same as the Brits, and the French). They did not get to Berlin fighting the Germans. Berlin was besieged and captured by the Red Army who then let them in as agreed in London in 1944.
