Yes, you will likely cause rib fractures if you do compressions left of the sternum. @RubbleEM has published a case series on changing the position of contractions using TTE. 🔗 doi.org/10.1080/109031…

@dan___kim @ChuShengEn @CritCareMed And some of them advise lowering your hands a little further from the sternum and moving them to the left, toward the apex. Is there any risk in compressing the thorax/apex? Can I cause damage to the chondrocostal cartilage or ribs?
