If you fix the problem... the money stops. So nothing ever gets fixed. The money vanishes into a network of nonprofits and nobody goes to jail and nobody loses their job and then freaking YOU go on X and point at billionaires. You doesn't want to fix anything. Fixed problems don't generate donations or fund your life... If you wanted to fix the problem you'd care about the fraud, BUT YOU DO NOT. That's how I know you're lying.

A lot of people are dunking on this, and it’s true, she should have paid the $60 per month for 20 years and let the forgiveness kick in. But what they’re missing is that she was loaned $65k for a terminal master’s in historic preservation. That should never have happened. Tuition has skyrocketed because the ability of students to pay it has completely decoupled from how much money they or their families can afford. Colleges charge infinity dollars because students have access to infinity student loans. In many cases students hoping a credential will lead to a better life get duped into indenturing themselves permanently to get worthless terminal master’s degrees. If the loans didn’t exist, then the master’s programs wouldn’t exist, and if the master’s programs didn’t exist then employers wouldn’t be looking for job applicants with master’s degrees which don’t even connote any real skills. Burn this whole rotten system down.

My teens wanted to watch a horror movie so we watched The Shining, which sent me down a rabbit trail Critics *hated* The Shining when it was released. Siskel gave it 2 stars. Variety said Kubrick "destroyed all that was so terrifying about the King novel". One critic called it "Shallow, self-conscious, and dull. Read the book". Kubrick was nominated for "Worst Director" at the first Razzie awards I find all of this insane. In imdb, The Shining is rated as one of the top 100 movies of all time. It is seared into our collective memory with "all work and no play" and "Here's Johnny" and "red rum". Somehow Kubrick made a horror movie that every "smart" person hated when it came out and yet endured as one of the great movies of all time. How do you do that?

@dan_worts @TheLaurenChen Human genetic characteristics such as color go way back to where they originated and make them better suited to survive in that region. Color won’t make you a better mother or father. Being a responsible person is a learned behavior.
