@MarkGottlieb @craigvn I thought it was fine. He wanted to talk directly to people that aren’t reading every news article. A lot of people might pause after that ‘maybe take the train’ remark more than they would if it was said in a press conference.

@craigvn I didn’t find it reassuring at all. Having an address to the nation in order to say nothing makes me think you don’t have a plan.

That Anthony Albanese address to the nation felt extremely unnecessary. I was expecting something far more serious than bland platitudes of ‘Aussie-ness’ and ‘hey, we’ve cut the excise and maybe try taking the train’. What a waste of everyone’s time. #Auspol

Before the war: 1) Iran didn't control the Strait Of Hormuz, now it does 2) Iran oil was sanctioned, now it's not 3) Iran was not building a nuke, now it will 4) US bases in the Gulf were assets, now liabilities 5) Inflation was declining, now increasing Definitely winning!

@natesaundersF1 It’ll be definitely worth watching if Ferrari can quickly get a bit more speed. Otherwise the good parts will get boring fast.

I'm still not convinced about the new cars and find myself very conflicted over how I feel - but can't deny the good stuff. Hoping for more tomorrow from the grand prix. Have always thought a good, competitive title fight would gloss over any negatives for most people

Even if doom and gloom over regs, some exciting things to focus on. Wheel to wheel racing out in front has been thrilling at points. Kimi's pole adds a fascinating edge to title battle already. And Lewis seems to be back to his old self. Ingredients all there for a fun season

So very concretely the outcome of the war so far is that Iran controls the world's most critical energy chokepoint, and Russia can now sell their own oil freely and at a premium. I can't think of another U.S. war that's been such an obvious strategic disaster so quickly: normally it takes them a couple of years...

Embarrassing that the AFL chose to play duds teams (Cats/Blues) in this opening round. Gold Coast can’t even fill its tiny stadiums, even after tens of millions of handouts / academies. GWS will be even worse. The AFL decided that its heartland fans must be punished. Why?

The idea that these two would break up over something as absurd as astrology is perfectly on brand and delightful. What thousands of well founded complaints couldn’t do, astrology does. news.com.au/entertainment/…

@hughriminton That’s mind blowing. And scary. But also, I immediately think of the benefits this could bring to aged and disability care. Helping people to move and wash and cook.
