@kvlmason Ref blew up as soon as they started and it was (IMO) before the ball was kicked
Therefore he is yellow carded for foul play but technically game hadn’t restarted
That how’s I understand it
Sorry to get all rules police here but. On the penalty that Spurs were (yet again) not given. When Cucurella bundles Van de Ven to the ground (for which a foul was given - which in the area means penalty) the ball was in play. The rule is: the ball is in play once it is kicked..
HT 1-0. Spurs started positively but short again of quality in the final third. Tel's header hit the post, everything else has been wasted or off target. And they've left Chelsea enough space for Fernandez to punish them from distance. Palmer went close just before the break.
Sorry I need to ask this. Because they seem to make it up as they go along. If you’re booked in the area…that’s a pen right? I’ve lost track of the rules…
Please, if anyone can help, I would like to organise a 24th-minute applause for our home game against Everton. My brother, Benjamin, took his own life on the 28th of April 2026. We didn't know he was suffering. He died aged 24, a lifelong, devoted Spurs fan. #COYS ...
Interviewed Toby Alderweireld about #thfc and life after football.
On where it's gone wrong & why he'd jump at the chance to go back to Spurs in a strategic role.
“If they need help, I’m there. I think the other guys would feel the same.”

🚨 | EXCLUSIVE : LUKA VUSKOVIC 🇭🇷
Borussia Dortmund are closely following Luka Vuskovic as a potential target to sign on loan this summer! 🟡🚨#BVB
Luka Vuskovic will return to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, and will make a decision regarding his future together with his agent and his family. 🤝🏻👀
Borussia Dortmund would like to sign Luka Vuskovic on loan until the end of the 26/27 season, IF Luka Vuskovic decides to leave on loan for another season. 🟡🤝🏻
Ideally, Borussia Dortmund would like to include an option to buy in a potential deal. However, understand that Spurs are NOT interested in that option. ❌️💰
Hamburg want to sign Luka Vuskovic on loan for another season, while FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich have shown interest in a permanent transfer. 🚨🇭🇷
@swspurs@BigBearKentlaar Inconsistency is key
A tickle in a players back is a foul
Next game a push isn’t
West Ham scored at Tottenham from taking out vicario
Yesterday it was disallowed
Both are fouls
So was rices bear hug
Refs are as bad as they have ever been
So Sky Sports’ pundits agree it’s the right decision.
Most of the Match of The Day pundits agree it’s the right decision.
Most reliable journalist agree it’s the right decision.
But I’ve got CityBoy1615, KopEnder & UtdDevil01 telling me it’s the worst VAR decision in Premier League history?
😭🤣
@SebSB It was a foul
As was the other fouls all happening
Strangely the fans can see it but the refs can’t
Your comment what can be allowed is key and I actually thing the rules do define that
But here they have let way too much go
Teams employing MMA people for coaching says it all
What would be helpful to know is what actually *can* take place inside the penalty box - between defenders and forwards, between attackers and goalkeepers.
The goal should have been disallowed yesterday, but I have sympathy for West Ham fans pointing to the other incidents.
Last night showed how unsuited football is to being inspected through this VAR lens. Once the footage was slowed down and rewatched that many times, there was no good outcome.
@henrywinter Canns idea would then create something like a ri scrum and even more attempts at blocking
Half the players would be on the floor nursing fake injuries after being ran into
The best way to stop is have the an official behind the goal looking for it
How to end the wrestle-mania scarring the Premier League? In all the fall-out to the (correct) VAR decision over the foul on Raya, some thought must now be given to stopping the free-for-all grappling at corners. Premier League and PGMO need to act on this embarrassment to the football it oversees. But how? More refereeing consistency would be a start.
Operating a no-hands rule - as suggested by some - would be impossible. Contact will always happen in a crowded area. Darren Cann’s suggestion of no attackers in the six-yard box until the ball is played makes sense, as Cann’s suggestions invariably do. A working party of Cann, a former player and manager could easily advise PGMO on getting to grips with the grapplers.
Again, re the West Ham goal ruled out… pundits not understanding that the issue isn’t the foul being given for most, it is that we’ve seen all season that some clubs get those reviews and others simply get ignored and the on field decision of goal stands.
It’s why many supporters hate VAR. We see goalkeepers fouled like that every week and nothing ever happens.
Funnily enough, West Ham’s winner against Spurs was exactly the same. Nobody said it was a foul, no on field review. Just the usual ‘Vicario needs to be stronger there’. Only a handful of clubs get the decision that Arsenal got today.
So which one is true?
@StanCollymore You get what you deserve
You have made it there and now have a great chance of winning it
It’s a proper trophy and fair play
I was in Bilbao and it was brilliant even if the game was gash
Enjoy it, like I’m sure you will
I’d love to know what Bentancur was playing at in the first half of the season. He didn’t have 1 good game that was half as good as the last 3 games he’s played since coming back from injury.
@LilywhiteLeaks The Frankenfiles were quick to say he could dig us out
None seemed to realise he had 3 of our worst EVER performances under his watch (statistically and the eye test)
