Does anyone have smart air vents from @flair? A few rooms in our house are really hot while the rest are cold and I think this could be a great solution! @ianlandsman thinks I'm crazy though.

@micahjay1 I did dual degree music and engineering at Northwestern. Was absolutely awesome.

My highschooler is seriously thinking about majoring in music and applying to music programs (not the conservatories but the ones within the larger univs). Any experiences - pros/cons? Advice?

@epaley Buy a cheap cable and use some pliers to deform the terminal slightly such that it has more mechanical interference than an unaltered one. Your welcome.

Anyone have a hack for the fact that most power and usb adapters don't work on planes because the adapters constantly fall out of the warn down outlets? There must be some way to make them work consistently.

@NPR In 2006, @LeilaFadel said “ My goal is to find the missing voices, the ones I heard on the streets of Beirut and Saudi Arabia”. I know what many of those voices said on October 8th, but your listeners hear from a person who doesn’t even know what Zionism is as your useful Jew. Ew

@NPR journalists and editors have such power and responsibility when it comes to who they interview and what they air, but they are unfortunately tending toward only exercising power. Looking for voices that confirm your biases, and tokenizing Jews to do that is racist.

Today on @NPR @MorningEdition , @LeilaFadel interviews @mashagessen who dishonestly and misleadingly equates “antizionism” with “criticism of Israel” which is plainly dishonest. @LeilaFadel is not a neutral journalist, and @mashagessens whole interview is riddled with lies.

Wireless charging while driving. Love that this tech is progressing. Not sure what it will be used for to be honest. Imho especially interesting for specialized sites (like container terminals) and charging during driving on the highway (e.g. for long distance trucks).

Today’s Oakland K-12 teach-in calls for the destruction of Israel. It lies about Jews, eg: Jews weren’t in Israel until 1948 (Jews have been there millennia) & only “white Jews” are welcome (3.2M Jews of color live there) It’s straight-up anti-Israel/anti-Jewish indoctrination

@HenMazzig I don’t get how there is no international pressure for hamas to simply surrender so that the war can stop and humanitarian efforts can begin at full speed. Where is the rest of the Middle East? Just waiting to see if Israel fails/succeeds? No opinions? I don’t get it.

I think I've said this a million times, but I keep feeling the need to say it again. The situation in Gaza is not improving, and we all want this war to end, to see the hostages return home, and the perpetrators of October 7th brought to justice. Every innocent civilian deserves to live in peace, and it starts with the rest of the world recognizing the humanity in both Israelis and Palestinians and advocating for a true and just peace.

@jjacobs22 At first I had mixed feelings about promoting hybridization (instead of pure electrification) but we quickly learned (from homeowners and contractors) that this was a really fast way to deploy heatpumps and often to people that wouldn’t have deployed otherwise.

Given that the key to combatting climate change is accelerating the transition, it is amazing to me how many “climate activists” confuse impeding progress with being helpful.

@irish2witter @EggersMatt I’m not sure anything about this post relates to advocating for breaking the law. The point of this post was that there is a double standard applied to conflicts involving Israel where it is special cased compared to larger and more deadly geopolitical conflicts.

@dandroid88 @EggersMatt Only standard that matters is objective rule of law. All those rules we humans made up at the end of WWII to stop us all killing each other. Because someone breaks a law and gets away with it does not mean law should be ignored.

Outside my window is a Free Tibet protest. Quick search shows 2 million people displaced from their ancestral homes in Tibet by the Chinese, many killed. I know this point has been made but where are the angry protests & declarations from the students at Princeton & Harvard?

@EggersMatt Is that not whataboutery Matt? Those displacements were sponsored by Chinese state, not the American state. It's a bit closer to home. There were 1.5m Palestinians displaced before the 1m this month...

@esglaude @NPRMichel Academics (barring a small number) have been complicit in creating these environments unsafe for Jewish students, and it has not done a thing to improve the state of affairs for Palestinians.

@esglaude @NPRMichel Academia has been allowing these intellectually dishonest narratives to permeate, in fact often spreading them in lectures and coursework. The plain truth is that American racial discourse is being projected inappropriately to this conflict and relying on distortions of history.
