Honestly, I think it’s ridiculous that every time I drop off my 2yo at Montessori, I have to drag in my 7 mo who weighs like 28 pounds in a stroller instead of just leaving him in the car for like two minutes tops. I’ve thought about doing it, but I could imagine one of the parents telling on me or something.

He’s seriously out of his mind because Jello is a food that’s easy to digest, hydrating & perfect for post op surgery patients in recovery because their throats are usually dry & sore & Jello is soothing to them. The packages are extremely small too.

@TheLizVariant That's the weakest argument. The real problem w homeschooling is the control/potential for neglect/abuse angle. If the kids do not encounter mandated reporters ever, how/when do they get the chance to get help?

Unpopular opinion: the socialization argument against homeschooling is made by people who haven’t seen what school socialization actually looks like in 2026.

@dantypo You're viewing minimum wage as a theory, an idea. Young, inexperienced people getting min wage makes sense in theory, but it doesn't hold weight when said wage has not increased with inflation and has no buying power like it once did. This is true irrespective of the worker.

Among my hottest takes are: - Disney adults (esp with no kids) are ruining it for families by inflating the cost of everything. - Disney adults should seek therapy to deal with childhood issues, not more trips to Disneyland. - Disney should not cater to Disney adults. It’s for families. It’s for the kids.
The New Yorker@NewYorker

For the most devoted fans, Disney has engineered an ecosystem of financial entanglement that goes far deeper than park tickets or merchandise, which keeps the magic—and the debt—perpetually compounding. In 2023, Ashley, a freshman at Quinnipiac University, in Connecticut, had $15,000 in her bank account. Excited by her newfound freedom as a college student, she decided to start going on solo trips. Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida, seemed like an obvious choice. She went during her winter break. Then she returned, six times, in two years. Soon enough, her account balance had dwindled to just five dollars. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many adults who have accumulated Disney debt seem to be chasing a feeling from their childhoods. One woman, who has been to Disney World more than a hundred times, said that visiting the parks takes her back to a time when she had fewer worries: “It’s the nostalgic feeling of what brought you joy when you were little and you didn’t have the stressors of adult life.” Read more about the Disney adults putting themselves in debt for the pursuit of magic: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/_JqtFg

@travisakers How are things looking in Venezuela and Iran? Lower gas prices than during Biden's term, and an end to two fascist regimes. one the world's largest sponsor of terror. And Trump's economy is humming. I'll take it.

The only people you can murder and call it nobody's business are the unborn. The tiniest and most vulnerable of humanity. Here is a 13 week old baby who can suck his thumb. He has functioning kidneys, vocal chords and finger prints are forming. He is a PERSON you are advocating to rip to pieces and throw in the trash bin. MONSTEROUS.

Christian nationalist pastor Joel Webbon says that since people will never give up democracy and the right to vote, they must be taken away by force: "Virtuous, ambitious, masculine men have to climb the ladder of power and forcefully take away from the people that which is their detriment."

We need to stop romanticizing the bare minimum as “self care” in motherhood. -Eating a hot meal uninterrupted? Basic human need. -Going to the bathroom alone? Not a luxury. -A dentist appointment? Not a spa day. -Grocery shopping? Definitely not “me time.” And if you have to be sick, injured, or completely depleted just to rest, that’s not normal. That’s a problem.

@daneyvilla2 @littlenutsac_ Different discussion from what you initially said. That we can agree on. He seems ready to move forward so that’s not my place. I don’t agree with the putting blame on him tho, this was as nice of a text you could send under the circumstances. It’s uncomfortable
