Nice unprofitable model you've got there. It'd be a real shame if people started tokenmaxxing and burned through millions of tokens on the most unproductive stuff possible. 🤔😅

A federal judge just ordered Trump’s name removed from the Kennedy Center because it honors JFK, not Donald Trump. America deserves a president, not a narcissist-in-chief who treats public office as a vehicle for self-promotion and personal enrichment.

@asaio87 Correct. The current issue is a majority of the people doing mass layoffs have no idea about software development. We don't have an AI problem, we have a leadership problem.

Only the people who have no idea about software development can say that software engineers will be replaced by AI any time soon.

@GarrettPetersen I didn't have a problem with this text. When I was young guys would literally call you up by finding your number in the phone book (lol, that sounds insane now) after a chance meeting. I got weirded out by all his subsequent texts tho. He sent like 3 or 4 more after this.

I want everyone condemning the guy to spell out exactly when and how it is OK for men to ask women out. I guarantee a lot of you have an implicit "only swiping apps" rule and don't even know it because the other avenues all closed piecemeal.

@RealPostFolder This reminded me of how 12 year old girls talk about their "relationships" at my kitchen table. Like, "Hm, interesting. Hey, anyone want a snack? I've got apples, bananas,..." 🤣

it’s crazy that i was so used to popes being like 372-year-old tiny italian men who just wear the little hat and bless things. now the pope likes baseball and gives out advice like uncle jessie it’s so sick
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

Deep inner suffering inevitably arises when the human person is reduced to performance, consumption, or a statistical datum. Many young people today live under the yoke of expectations to perform, immersed in an exasperated competitiveness that generates anxiety, fear of not measuring up, and disorientation.

Folks, it happened again! My friend sent the Nobu Malibu text to another girl; this one ghosted him in November. Text was sent last night, she responded just now.

@AmberWoods100 You would tax where the money comes from not residency. That's already on the books. The issue is enforcement not taxation.

If every state appropriately taxed billionaires, many of them would scatter in the wind. That’s the challenge: wealth is mobile, while ordinary people are not. They will create a hellscape for ordinary people and then move to an oasis untouched.

This is an awful situation and I feel bad for this guy However, “women should lower their standards” and “women should marry men they aren’t attracted to” is one of the major talking points of rightoid bro Twitter And this is what it looks like if women do that

@SteveSkojec @kalezelden Rare books, like the specific book is a rare copy or, as I suspect, out of print books that they digitized?

To be clearer about my question: I think it's good that they scanned old, rare books. Books that almost certainly weren't about to be snatched up by anyone else. I think it's good that the knowledge from those books was retained. Or that it would be used to train AI models at all. I don't know of a good way to scan books that keeps their spines in tact. I've done it with an out of print book of my own that I wanted to make sure I could retain before it started falling apart. And a spineless book is, essentially, a pile of loose papers. I guess they could have paid to have them re-bound? I'm just trying to understand the villainy part.

Did you know Anthropic embarked on what they called Project Panama in which they purchased large quantities of rare books, cut off the spines, scanned them, then confetti’ed them? Physical and metaphorical villainy.
