One of the more chaotic aspects of player development comes in potential "side effects" of making a change. This is easily understood through something like bulking ("congrats on gaining muscle but now you're fat"), but is prevalent in mechanical adjustments as well.

The adjustment: Work DOWN with his shoulders during his stride. By getting his shoulders tilted correctly at foot plant, his attack angle naturally flattened out. This put the barrel on plane with the pitch earlier and longer.

@mrreaton50 was working too uphill during his stride. This created a steep attack angle into the zone, causing him to create top spin on his batted balls.

Making quick adjustments is important as a hitter. @mrreaton50 went from top spinning balls to hitting hard line drives in a few swings. 🧵
