@LouisvilleFB @PNygra54 Our Helmet Decal should always be the Heisman bird unless we use the scripted Cards.

@UofLSheriff50 Says we’ve been on game day 5 times in the article. Anyone know the 5th time? I remember FSU & Clemson 2016, Clemson 2017 and Miami 2020.

To Louisville fans:
A lot of people are hurt by what we said directly after the game.
We have always strived to be a brand that is by the fans and for the fans.
We try not to be too one-sided and give our opinions as folks who want to grow the fanbase and city, creating unity and giving our community a place to freely give their opinions and share our pride for the area and its sports teams.
We spend a lot of time and energy trying to create a community that you’re proud to be a part of.
We attended almost every game during the Steve Kragthorpe, Bobby 2.0, and Kenny Payne eras.
We love this city and will always be proud to wear that name across our chests.
Today, 50,253 of us made sacrifices to be at L&N Stadium. Many of us treated this game as we should. Passionately. Joyfully. As fans should.
We work tirelessly to simply enjoy the 6 games in the fall. It’s a massive outlet for our team.
As someone who went to 11 games last season. Who has been to 200+ lifetime games. There’s no one more dedicated to this right here.
I understand what every game means. I soak in every “Cards first down” and every train horn that sounds in that stadium.
Going back to the game, I’ve seen a lot of mediocre play on that field. I’ve seen teams that simply don’t meet the expectations that we set for this program.
For me, there’s nothing more than I want than to win every game. No matter the cost.
Most of you reading this are in that boat as well.
You took time away from your families. You spent your hard-earned money to attend the game. You gave what you had in the tank to the program, the university, and this city. That’s moving.
However, we aspire for more. We aspire to be a place that opponents hate to play. We aspire to be a city that is beloved by guests for its culture and hospitality, but simultaneously hated as a stadium to visit because of its atmosphere.
At times, L&N Stadium has been that. It’s been a place that’s hostile. It’s been a place that represents our city and culture to a T.
Today, it simply wasn’t.
The message isn’t intended for those missed other plans or for those who gave their time, money, and energy for something they simply love.
The message is intended for our city and program as a whole. That we must do better. That we must strive for more. On and off the field.
We must.
26 years ago, this was a program that played in a dilapidated stadium in a small conference in our state’s fairgrounds. We wanted more. We strived for excellence. We’ve obtained excellence.
It’s grown to a program with 40,000+ season ticket holders. A power 4 conference contender. A program to be reconned with.
For the remainder of the season, that’s all we want. For those who make that sacrifice to attend games to be present. For those who care about this program and city to want this thing to get to the next level. It’s absolutely attainable. It’s within our grasp.
Our vision is 60,000 strong. A true home field advantage.
Louisville football is far from that vision currently. And that’s okay.
But we are striving for that next push. For that elite-level home field advantage.
Because it’s obtainable.
And we want the entire city to be a part of it.
We still can be. This season.
So, let’s get it. Let’s be that.
And for those who already are, this message was never intended for you in the first place.
We are close. Let’s make that push.
Go Cards.
