Didn't have time to enter any more than that because I had family visiting for the weekend. So no big prize, but went +16,000 gems. Which is really just ~3 free entries for the next time this event comes around (or some win-a-box event entries I suppose)

Entered the Arena Limited Championship Qualifier twice: 7-1 both times with Goblins. The @Limitedlevelups video on drafting Goblins was helpful. No success in draft-2, though (3-2 and 1-2). Both drafts felt much harder to find an open lane and ended with multicolor/splash decks

@jakeformayor @MTG_Arena After saving up 300k gold across two accounts (using only gems to draft, etc. after this was first announced) I'm ready to:

In under 48 hours we'll have the first Arena Limited Championship Qualifier and: - it's not listed in the carousel/front page - no posts by @MTG_Arena - got 3 sentences in the announcements 1800 people played sealed in Toronto last weekend. We like limited. Lean tf in, WotC.

Went 4-1-1 in the sealed portion of the Limited Championship Qualifier at #SCGAtlanta yesterday, with the one loss being against @Nathansteuer1. I finished in 30th place, barely making the top-32 cut. Lost in the first round of the draft portion, though. Still a great experience.

@mtg_ds Have people said removal is overrated for this format or in general? Removal can be better or worse in different sets based on how many cards give value on ETB versus how many need to stick around. Here, firebending and other attack triggers means removal is better than usual

After one day, the top 5 commons (4 shown here, of course) are all removal. 3 of them are Lessons, which is cool. I have heard people claim that removal is overrated, but I've never understood where they're getting that idea.

@MJM_HS I just saw this same thing as you (and haven’t heard anything else, although I haven’t contacted support). I heard from someone who competed in AC6 that they got the details ~30 days before the event. So we should be getting updates soon.

Looks like Arena Championship 7 finally got a date, but I haven't seen any update about it yet. Unsure if my support tickets are getting through. Any Magic mutuals in the same boat?

@JohnRuml My issue with the timer is more of with the whole interface itself, but it feels unfair when my clock runs down while I have no plays, or while I figure out what I need to click on to resolve something, and I time out in spite of taking much less time thinking than my opponent

What I love about the chess clock on mtgo is that it's a powerful bullshit detector. Magic players love to blame their opponents' slow play for unintentional draws in paper, and there's really no objective way to prove whose "fault" it is. Not so when you lose 8mins on timer!
Matt Costa@mattccosta

If anyone knows MTGO user "dreddybajs", they just played to time me out in the challenge when I couldn't possibly lose, and I lost while attacking for lethal. Not a good look

@SamuelHBlack Isn't this only relevant in games that come down to decking (or go close enough to decking that players need to adjust their gameplay) -- which is very uncommon and feels negligible compared to having value / bombs / hard-to-answer threats give inevitability in most matchups?

“Playing to not lose” gets a bad rap, but it’s actually really powerful when that’s all you need to do.

Limited theory article in tweet form: the reason I value cards like Barkform Harvester so highly despite their consistently low win rate is that the cards offer a kind of value to me that most players don’t realize.

Got the 4-1 in the Arena Open Draft 2 to win the $2000 Carrot Cake was the MVP - finding the right number/type of lands is important, and the cake ensured that happened often enough (and games where I had bad mana issues were ones where I didn't have my cake) @fireshoes @mtghorde

4-0 in the Arena Open D2 Draft 1 First time playing Builder's Talent, and they were great Deck was able to go much wider than I expected (and maybe I should have played Rabbit Response) Highlights were attacking with a 17/17 Moose and a 15/15 Moose @fireshoes @mtghorde

@toriofthevast @MagicOnline I want to play some variant of energy decks (after the inevitable Nadu ban when I begin playing Modern). The Jeskai list with Mockingbird seemed kind of sweet (although that seemed to have the biggest risk of crashing MTGO by copying Ocelot and making too many tokens).

Went 1-1 in the top-8 draft, losing in the semifinals (to another UB deck). The event was a great experience, and I'll probably go to the only other limited RCQ that's even relatively nearby (still an hour-90min drive, though)

Went 3-0-2 (2x ID) sealed in a limited RCQ yesterday. Normal GW rabbits and some good removal, with some great splash cards: Thundertrap Trainer hit crucial Innkeeper's Talents, Carrot Cakes, and Banishing Lights, and Mockingbird copying big creatures also just wins games. 1/2

@PrediMTG There was enough fixing that a small splash would have been nearly free as long as you were base-green. I think I agree with UG being ideal, but a single copy of Banishing Light or Nocturnal Hunger could easily have been added (probably without needing a basic)

sealeddeck.tech/17lands/pool/c… I could have played GW GB or what i ran GU I think my choice was the best with this pool. All colors had amount same amount of removal i just liked the blue bombs the most. Not 100% sure if this was build correct but it was not a 0-2 Deck (well it was)

@SaffronOlive Rules clarification: Can this reduce both blue and generic costs at the same time (or is it only one or the other)? It sounds like it could only make spells with all blue pips, or no colored pips, free, although the wording is not very clear.

This card seems super broken to me. Reducing colored mana costs along with colorless is wild. Seems pretty easy to stick this and protect it with counters (which are now free) and ride it to victory.
