In my opinion, I believe we can start a BREAKWAY elite league with lots of hard work. A BREAKWAY elite league can start with the likes of Ikorodu City, Remo Stars, Ranchers, Sporting, Inter Lagos, Barau Khalifa, Doma. I agree it won't be easy, but we can start the conversation if truly we are serious. The English Premier League of today, which is celebrated as the best league in the world today, didn't just start in 1992, as the case may be. Conversation around establishing the English Premier League as we read began far back in 1984 and later became a reality eight years later. Since we have a good number (8) of private clubs now in the Nigeria Premier Football League and some in the NNL. I think this is the right time to start having this conversation of a breakaway league. Will it be possible? No. Will the powers that be accept such proposal? No. But one thing is certain when there is a strong will, there will always be a way out.
