Fun fact: The biggest barrier to performing same day bilateral cataract surgery is that Medicare cuts reimbursement by 50% for the second eye.

Just heard about an older couple who both need bilateral cataract surgery. They’ve been told they can only have one eye done each. He’s the driver and is having his right eye done, she her left, so that when they are in the car together they have a good combined field of vision.
