I've lived in apple country my whole life, but I still can't get used to plantings of recent years -- small trees, close together, but with great yields. It's truly amazing what growers and Cornell have done.

I'm envious that my kids can make best friends in seconds and play like they've known each other for years. That's a skill we lose as adults.

Great hike to Taughannock Falls with my family. It is the highest plunge waterfall in the Eastern US. The last time we did this I was carrying my daughter in our Kelty pack. Now she carries her own little pack.
