There is no greater British epitaph than "nice bloke". At the end, that's what you want people to say about you. Because it says so much. And Gary Mounfield *was* a nice bloke. When so many people in music aren't. We should all be bit more "Mani" .

Awful. A lovely man with a lot of time & nice things to say about us down this end of the M62. Fond memories of a night watching The Farm/Mondays in a box at the MEN with him. He swapped a Justice badge (which he wanted) for his FC Utd badge (not as wanted) with one of us RIP 😢

When Paul Rice, one of the first leaders of @spiritofshankly , fell ill, he asked us to give blood regularly. Good to see Peter is still doing it. And a reminder to me, and I'm sure loads of others, to get back in the routine.

Out of everyone (else) they’ve got the factors to get it right; local identity, history, engagement with the club to do stuff in the ground, from the outside looking in it seemed a good mix of older fans & active younger groups home/away 🤷‍♂️

It hasn't always been about booing the anthem. In 1965 it was God Save The Team. In '01 we sang YNWA over it. Booing over the last decade felt like two fingers up to the government. A good & welcome show of feeling. Yesterday, sorry, sounded like England fans away to Andorra.
