I believe the popularity of Nostalgia today is because the art, aesthetics, music, movies, and pop culture of the near past were actually better and higher quality than anything today or perhaps in the near future. AI will only make this more apparent.

The reason we’re seeing a resurgence in Pokémon and 90s era collectibles is simple. People that grew up then finally are at a point in their careers where they have disposable income. Expect parabolic increases.
