@jacksdiningroom You really gotta disclose when you're running an ad lol

I really wanted to gate keep this one…but I won’t. Sushi is one of my favorite foods especially as a New Yorker, but I hate expensive overpriced fancy sushi I’m a casual guy.
My favorite spot in NYC in terms of freshness and price is absolutely sushi Hatsune in Chinatown. I’m usually the only person eating in the actual restaurant there.

@danielrakh lol. what you did with this poll? last time I saw it it had 3 vote for PM (one was mine) and now its 0
English

@austin_rief not sure if you tried sho, nakaji, yoshino, noz…etc yet but there’s clearly a difference between them and something you would get under $100
English

@austin_rief sure lol it’s pretty easy. i’d be able to tell just based off of the rice. if one can’t tell i would say they haven’t eaten at enough top tier sushiyas yet.
English

@austin_rief Umeko for example is not "good" imo even though its $48. I would rather do Sendo for that price point any day.
English

@austin_rief So am i. "Good" is relative though right? for example Sendo has a great value to price ratio but so does Shota. Both are in two totally different price points. You can't say Sendo is better than Shota just because it's cheaper.
English

@danielrakh likely, but that misses one part I think
starbucks wouldn't even add support for accounts and making purchases within the chatgpt app, they required it to go back to their app/website
so even an openai device wouldn't work seamlessly
English

This is correct. But i suspect this integration is less about doing this in the ChatGPT app vs building the rails for the imminent OpenAI device.

This is why it sucks and AI replacing UI and apps makes no sense The order flow of using the Starbucks app (19 seconds) vs ChatGPT (103 seconds)

I honestly couldn't care less if you use a pencil and paper to "design" or AGI. the only thing that matters is what you're shipping at the end. you're either building a product or fiddling with tools. so far there's been a lot of conversation about fiddling with tools and not a lot about the quality and purpose of product being shipped.

@Shwinnabego in many ways its a self-reinforcing thing. once you see / hear something has a line (social proof) your hardwired to desire it as well. modern version of mimetic theory?
English

few. so very few.

TIL Steve Jobs decided to use glass for the first iPhone *after* announcing it and noticing his plastic screen was scratched. He convinced @Corning to resurrect an invention they made in the 1960’s, convert a factory, and produce millions of screens in a few months.
