Some may say index funds only are boring and won’t yield the best returns, but I much prefer it. I don’t want the hassle of cherry picking. Buying a single index has gained me over £10,000 tax free in the last 2 years so I’ll keep it going. 💪

Once you get the determination to build generational wealth, it will never dissipate.

@daninvests789 I'm old and distinctly remember conversations 15 or so years ago with techy, bitcoin advocates, at the hedge fund I worked at, about buying bitcoin and also graphics cards for mining. Of course, fool that I am, I probably concentrated more on which sandwich to have for lunch 🤦‍♂️

@sjbarr500 I played with Bitcoin a little and hold a moon bag, took my initial plus some and moved it to the ETF. To be honest I think it’s a good time to DCA that one atm.

@daninvests789 Ha ha...we all have those ones we still think about but that got away! For me I missed out on Sandisk, Apple, bitcoin etc etc. You just have to put that aside and think of the ones just around the corner

I know not all months will be like this, but my ISA balance grew £48k in a single month. To put that into comparison, someone would need to earn c.£1m gross in order to earn this Net a month.

@sjbarr500 I guess I feel more secure knowing the ETF is such a large pot of everything/everywhere in one swoop. I almost bought a bunch of AMD around £100 a share at one point, not sure why I didn’t but this was years ago. We’ll see, we’ll see!

@daninvests789 Yeah, definitely worth consideration. So, for me, for example, my S&P tracker has seen a yearly growth of about 18% whereas Tesla has returned about ten times that. Indices flatten things. Less exciting but still fun

@sjbarr500 True, it’s been a thought for me and maybe something I’ll look at. Maybe when I get to £50K I’ll put 10% aside of that for a few picks.

@daninvests789 Obviously it's good, but you do miss the crazy gains on offer, as well as the occasional big losses. Might still be worth adding a few well chosen stocks
